Man arrested, charged with murder in girlfriend’s death

Las Vegas police today arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend at their home in the 4300 block of El Cebra Way.

Clayton Lavell Wrencher, 45, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon. Wrencher, the victim’s boyfriend, had fled the home near Mountain Vista Street and Harmon Avenue after the Friday night slaying, police said.

The victim had multiple stab wounds to the chest and stomach and was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Her name was withheld pending notification of family. Police said the couple apparently argued after deciding to separate after 16 years together.
