FISHING REPORT

LAKE MEAD -- Anglers are finding success with live bait in the Vegas Wash arm because of an influx of shad. Action along the beach area has been slow.

In the Overton arm, anglers are using hardware to catch fish from Stewart's Point and the meadows.

LAKE MOHAVE -- Fishing out of Cottonwood Cove has been poor the past week, though a couple of lucky anglers reportedly hauled in a 21-pound and a 25-pound striper near Willow Beach. Trout fishing also has been slow in the Willow Beach area.

Boating traffic has increased significantly with the warmer temperatures.

URBAN PONDS -- Catfish action has slowed. The next catfish plant is scheduled for the week of June 8. Stink bait, shrimp, night crawlers and chicken liver can be productive. For panfish, try small earthworms or mealworms suspended about 3 feet below a bobber.

KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Anglers have had some success for rainbow trout while fishing with PowerBait. Warming water temperatures will favor bass action. Be prepared to fish around weeds.

EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Stocked rainbows continue to provide action for anglers using prepared baits, flies, various lures and spinners. Traditional baits such as worms also are productive.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Look for largemouth bass in areas with vegetation and near other underwater structures.

Anglers are catching rainbow trout with earthworms, flies and PowerBait. Crappie also have been hitting baits.
