CASHMAN CENTER TO GET SHAKEDOWN

Finishing touches are being put on the temporary 60-lane bowling facility being constructed inside the Cashman Center, and 300 locals bowlers will try out the lanes Wednesday.

Preceding the Feb. 10-15 U.S. Bowling Congress Masters and the USBC Open — a 154-day tournament that runs from Feb. 21 to July 24 — are preliminary events that include:

— TNBA ANYWAY-ANYHOW DOUBLES: Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. ($40 entry fee; open to all USBC members); (702) 631-1155 or 219-8085.

— SENIOR APPRECIATION DAY: Thursday, 10 a.m.; call (702) 943-6703.

— MASTERS ELIMINATOR: Thursday, 7 p.m. ($60 entry with free Masters entry going to the winner); call (702) 943-6703.

— SHAKEDOWN SWEEPER: Saturday, 1 p.m. ($20 entry fee), call (702) 943-6703.
