Person struck and killed while doing road work

A person performing road work was struck and killed early Friday near Cactus Avenue and Decatur Boulevard, Las Vegas police said.

The person was working outside a utility truck and was hit by the driver of a unidentified sedan around 5:15 a.m.
Friday, Las Vegas police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said.

The driver of the vehicle was en route to work, Morgan said, but no other information about the traffic fatality.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
