McCarran’s arrivals, departures drop

The number of people making arrivals and departures at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas fell 7.7 percent to about 44 million in 2008, including a 14.1 percent decrease in December.

According to statistics released Friday by the Clark County Department of Aviation, the top five carriers at McCarran all showed percentage decreases for the year. The biggest drop was for US Airways, which flew 24.2 percent fewer people to Las Vegas in 2008 than it did in 2007.
