High winds prompt dust advisory for Las Vegas Valley

A dust advisory has been issued in the Las Vegas Valley for today as high winds in the forecast bring the chance of harmful blowing dust.

The Clark County Department of Air Quality and Environmental Management advised residents and those working outdoors to be aware of dust particles in the air.

The air quality advisory will be in effect through tonight.

Air quality officials recommend driving slowly on unpaved roads and avoiding short cuts across vacant lots.
