Student arrested with loaded gun at Cheyenne High School

School police say a 16-year-old student is in custody after authorities confiscated a loaded .22-caliber handgun from him at Cheyenne High School.

Clark County school police Lt. Ken Young says the student didn't make any threats and classes were not disrupted during the 11 a.m. Wednesday arrest at a school office.

The boy faces a charge of possession of a deadly weapon on school property.

Young says school administrators and police are still investigating why the teen had the weapon at school.
