Neon This Week

You could forgive The Wanteds for not living up to their name all that much. It's not their fault.

The Portland-based band's latest disc, "Failure Looks So Good," is a fine, scrappy, indie pop rock record with buzzing guitars and the kind of bright-eyed melodies that probably would have landed the band a major label record deal in the heady days of the alt-rock boom of the mid-'90s. Those times being long gone, the group released the record themselves and are touring in D.I.Y. fashion.
