Man fatally stabbed in shopping cart incident at Wal-Mart

A man was stabbed to death after bumping a shopping cart into a vehicle at a southeast valley Wal-Mart parking lot Wednesday night.

Las Vegas police Lt. Lew Roberts said officers were called to the Wal-Mart at 5198 Boulder Highway, near Nellis Boulevard, at 6:45 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed several times.

The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Roberts said the man was pushing a shopping cart and hit the suspect's vehicle. The suspect got out of the car and stabbed the victim several times, Roberts said. The suspect then left the scene. Police arrested the suspect nearby at Boulder Highway and Harmon Avenue.

The names of the suspect and the victim were not released.

"That's basically it, over a shopping cart," Roberts said.
