Police identify man killed by Henderson police
The man who was shot to death after pointing a handgun at police at St. Rose Hospital Sienna campus early Wednesday was identified today by the Clark County coroner’s office as 48-year-old Charles Bradley Campbell of Henderson.
Police said Campbell entered an emergency room at the hospital 3100 St. Rose Parkway just before 1 a.m. threatening to commit suicide.
Officers arrived within minutes of a nurse’s phone call, and patients and staff were evacuated while police attempted to speak to the man.
When police confronted Campbell, he had a gun in his hand and disobeyed orders to put it down. He then pointed the gun at officers, police said.
Two officers fired their weapons at Campbell. He was taken to another part of the hospital and died a short time later.
The identities of the two officers who shot Campbell will not be released until 48 hours after the incident, as per police policy.
