Just spell his, I mean our, name right

Mayor Oscar Goodman is being accused in some terribly cynical circles of pulling a political/media stunt in his pursuit of an apology from President Obama for a perceived slight on the delicate image of pristine Las Vegas. They might be right, those cynics. With Goodman, stagecraft and statecraft are Siamese twins.

But what’s undeniable is the fact his antics, I mean outrage, over Obama’s appropriate recent statement about companies that receive federal bailout funds not blowing big bucks on Vegas junkets is churning out reams of publicity for Las Vegas.

Hey, Mr. Wells and Mr. Fargo dudes, Goodman fights for your right to party.

A quick Google news search this morning shows 488 articles with “Goodman, Obama, Las Vegas” mentioned.

Goodman is demanding an apology. Will he settle for a commemorative plate?
