Another move made to get tax cap on November ballot

Proponents of a proposal to cap property taxes asked the Nevada Supreme Court today to reconsider an earlier decision that has kept the measure off the November ballot.

The filing with the court is based on a recent decision by a federal judge that invalidated a requirement that signatures had to be collected in all 17 counties.

Even if some of the signatures for the proposed 2 percent property tax cap collected in Clark County are invalid due to issues with affidavits required of the petition circulators, there are enough valid names to get the measure to the voters, said attorney Joel Hansen for We the People Nevada.
