Candidates set to debate today

State Senate and Clark County Commission candidates will debate today at the studio of Vegas PBS, also known as KLVX-TV, Channel 10.

The taped event, Vote 2008, will air at 9 p.m., according to the station's Web site. Mitch Fox will moderate the debates between these candidates:

• Incumbent Joe Heck, Republican, and Shirley Breeden, Democrat, for Senate District 5.

• Incumbent Bob Beers, Republican, and Allison Copening, Democrat, for Senate District 6.

• Steve Sisolak, Democrat, and Brian Scroggins, Republican, for County Commission District A.

• Larry Brown, Democrat, and Valerie Weber, Republican, for County Commission District C.
