Motorcyclist dies in wreck on U.S. 95

A 31-year-old Henderson man died Tuesday night on U.S. Highway 95 after he was ejected from his motorcycle and struck by a car, a spokesman with the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

Trooper Kevin Honea said the accident occurred about 6:45 p.m. on southbound U.S. 95, between Rainbow and Jones boulevards.

Honea said the motorcyclist, whose name was not released, was weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his bike. He was hit by a dark sedan.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Honea said authorities want to speak with the driver of the sedan, who might not be aware that a person was struck.

"You have a reasonable expectation that there's not going to be person in the travel lane," Honea said.
