MORNING LINE: Sex Guy Delivers Package

Spurned sex club operator David Cooper and girlfriend Alayne Strebeck played Santa and Mrs. Claus Tuesday at the Clark County Government Center, but I’m guessing members of the County Commission didn’t like their gifts.

Each was issued a notebook jammed with easily obtained examples of advertising for local sex clubs. Officially, the county doesn’t license sex clubs. Instead, its officials play slap and tickle with semantics and license what are obviously pay-to-enter group grope parlors as “juice bars” and “health spas” and so forth. Occasionally you’ll even find some licensed as restaurants.

Cooper is still steaming over the county’s rejection of his Sextasy Club in Commercial Center. His club is flanked by other clubs that obviously cater to willing participants. He continues to argue that the county should either change with the times or enforce its own laws.

Cooper went further on Tuesday. He mentioned the names of Terry Gordon, the godfather of Vegas sex clubs, and Danny Russo, who operates the Hush Club and is the brother of a veteran Metro officer, as insiders in the business.

As usual, no one at the county was willing to listen. In fact, I’ve come to believe county officials think he’s a pain in the neck.
