Missing infant returned to mother

The Amber Alert issued for a Nye County infant was lifted this morning when six-month Julian Alarid was returned safely to his mother.

The boy was missing since around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and Nye County Sheriff's officials believed he was with his father, Stephen Alarid, who left after a domestic dispute with the child's mother.

Details about the child's return have not been released this morning.

The Nye County Sheriff's office said Stephen Alarid is still at large. Alarid is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has tattoos of a snake on a stake and a swimming dolphin on his left arm. On his right arm, he has a "USMC" Marine bulldog tattoo. He might be traveling in a 1998 Toyota Camry with Nevada Professional Firefighter license plate with the number 0839.

Anyone with information about the man's whereabouts are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
