YOUR WEEKEND: Donate toys, get a free concert ticket

Want to see a free concert starring a surprise country music star? Then bring a new, unwrapped toy worth at least $10 to any Star Nursery location in the valley, and you'll receive a free ticket to Station Casinos' fifth annual Toys for Tickets All-Star Jam. The concert is at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, in the Ovation showroom at Green Valley Ranch Resort, 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway, in Henderson.

Previous performers have included Toby Keith, Lonestar (right), Charley Pride and Phil Vassar. The only way to find out who this year's performer is to donate a toy for a ticket.

Tickets will be available until Friday, Dec. 5, and there is a maximum four tickets per person. Donations will be accepted at the door if tickets still are available. Toys will be donated to the  Children’s Advocacy Alliance. Last year, 1,500 toys were collected.

Local Star Nursery locations include:

  •  2600 Ann Road, North Las Vegas
  • -7330 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas
  •  8170 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas
  •  4810 Wynn Road, Las Vegas
  •  5340 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas
  •  8725 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas
