Utah woman agrees to plea in crash that killed husband

KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A 43-year-old St. George, Utah, woman agreed to plead guilty to negligent homicide and drunken driving charges for a Feb. 9 accident that killed her husband in northwest Arizona.

The plea agreement for Teri Henrie came Friday in Mohave County Superior Court.

Prosecutor Jace Zack said Henrie and her husband, Jason, had been drinking when they visited family in Mesquite, and that they decided that she was in better condition to drive when they left.

Jason Henrie suffered fatal injuries when his wife lost control of their vehicle, which struck a median barrier on Interstate 15 and rolled at mile marker 9.

Defense attorney Brian Whitney said Jason Henrie slumped over, and his client lost control as she tried to attend to him and drive.

Zack said an autopsy determined the deceased had a blood-alcohol content of 0.32 percent. Teri Henrie's blood-alcohol content was 0.13.

Henrie could get probation or up to 33/4 years in prison when sentenced Dec. 12 by Superior Court Commissioner Lee Jantzen.
