The bus driver who found kidnapped 6-year-old Cole Puffinburger said today that he didn't recognize the child when he first saw him alone at the side of the road Saturday night.
Julio Diaz, 39, stopped his bus because it seemed odd for a child to be alone at night, he said at a press conference this afternoon.
The boy hopped on the bus after it stopped on Oakey Avenue near 17th Street.
"He told me his name was Cole," Diaz said.
Las Vegas police gave little new information at the press conference. Capt. Vincent Cannito said investigators were pursuing dozens of leads in the boy's kidnapping and the drug dealing and extortion related to it.
