The World Series of Poker is an all international Final Table
Heads up play tonight to determine the 2008 World Poker Champion will be between a 22-year-old Dane and a 27-year-old Russian.
Dennis Phillips of St. Louis, the last American standing at the World Series of Poker, finished in third place early Monday morning, winning $4.5 million.
That means heads Peter Eastgate of Denmark and Ivan Demidov of Moscow will face off starting at 10 p.m. at the Rio to claim top prize in the World Series of Poker’s $10,000 buy-in no limit World championship of Texas Hold’em. Eastgate is the chip leader with 80.3 million in tournament chips. If he wins, Eastgate will become the World Series of Poker’s youngest champion, eclipsing a 19-year record set by Phill Hellmuth Jr.
Demidov has 56.6 million in tournament chips.
The winner will take home $9.15 million while the runner-up wins $5.8 million.
