Coalition enters Nevada

A federation of 26 state-based environmental groups, Environment America, is launching a version for the Silver State, director Anna Aurilio said on a visit to Las Vegas this week.

The national group, a spin-off of the Public Interest Research Group, will focus on promoting solar thermal power and other renewable energy sources to combat global warming "and spur a shift to a clean-energy economy," she said.

Environment Nevada will conduct outreach and education for citizens who want to participate.

The state groups will generate reports that address the benefits of clean-energy policies by promoting efficiency and renewable energy.
