Wink Adams scored 18 points and Rene Rougeau 11 as UNLV survived a sluggish performance and defeated Western Michigan 70-61 today at the Orleans Arena.
Martelle McLemore’s jumper in the lane pulled the Broncos within 59-54 with 5:24 remaining. Adams made two free throws, Rougeau scored inside and Adams hit a baseline jumper to put UNLV up 65-54 with 3:10 to go.
Derek Drews had 17 points for the Broncos (2-8). The Rebels (8-2) return to the Thomas & Mack Center to host Santa Clara on Wednesday.
