Hammargren open house set

Former Lt. Gov. Lonnie Hammargren will open his house for the Nevada Day celebration for the 13th time on Sunday.

His home and the complex around it feature exhibits of artifacts and memorabilia from Howard Hughes, Bugsy Siegel, and even the European Space Agency's Columbus Laboratory.

The open house will be from 1 to 5 p.m.

The public is invited to the open house, but adults are asked for a $5 donation to the Living Grace Home, which is a residential facility that serves unwed pregnant teenagers. Children under 12 will be admitted free.

The home is located at 4318 Ridgecrest Drive, near Flamingo and Sandhill roads.
