Lakers almost fooled by Love

In one of the best games of the NBA Summer League, Joe Crawford drove the lane and made a 10-foot floater with 2.9 seconds left to lift the Los Angeles Lakers to a 95-93 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Minnesota center Kevin Love, the fifth overall draft pick from UCLA, finished with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Love will average a double-double as a rookie. He’s not spectacular but every aspect of his game is solid.

Crawford, the Lakers’ second-round pick out of Kentucky, had 10 points.

About 2,000 fans were in the Thomas & Mack Center to watch the Lakers-Timberwolves while O.J. Mayo and the Memphis Grizzlies were playing the L.A. Clippers in Cox Pavilion.
