Listen to West's new soundtrack

They describe their sound as a "psychedelic shootout in a Western town on a distant planet," and somehow, it's not as hyperbolic as it seems. But then again, nothing is as it first appears when it comes to Spindrift's chimerical tunes, which are indebted to Ennio Morricone's Spaghetti Western soundtracks, The Doors, the Spacemen 3, long sunsets, fistfuls of hallucinogens, the wide expanse of the desert and perhaps the occasional UFO sighting.

Hazy, pretty and haunting all at once, this is the new soundtrack to the wild, wild West. See the band at 10 tonight at the Beauty Bar, 517 Fremont St. Call 598-1965.
