ROOKIES CONTINUE TO IMPRESS

Minnesota's Kevin Love and Portland's Jerryd Bayless continued to impress in their matchup on Thursday, but for different reasons.

Bayless, a point guard from Arizona, got to the free-throw line seven times in the first half of the Timberwolves-Trail Blazers matchup, which Minnesota leads 40-36 at halftime.

So far in Summer League play, Bayless has attempted 46 free throws in 85 minutes of play, scoring 65 points.

Love, meanwhile, has owned the Cox Pavilion boards, grabbing 35 rebounds in 76 minutes.

SNAP, CRACKLE, POPS

Pops Mesnah-Bonsu is used to getting loud cheers from crowds.

A fan favorite at George Washington, Mensah-Bonsu frequently brought the house down with his effective dunks.

Today was no different. Midway through the second quarter of the Timberwolves' matchup with the Trail Blazers, Mensah-Bonsu elicited a roar with a slam that rattled the rim.

It happened again three minutes later.

ELSEWHERE IN LAS VEGAS

Meanwhile at the Thomas & Mack Center, the Phoenix Suns blasted the San Antonio Spurs 98-74 behind Alando Tucker's 24 points. Tucker shot 8-for-10 shots and added eight free throws, continuing his blazing summer play.

The former Wisconsin star is averaging 23.3 points through three games, good for third in the league to this point.
