WOMAN BEATEN TO DEATH

Manhunt continues for suspect in LV slaying

Police on Thursday continued to search for a man suspected in the beating death of a 29-year-old woman.

Las Vegas police said the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Jesus Roberto Munguia, was not in custody and is considered dangerous.

Witnesses on Wednesday called police about noon after seeing a woman dead in the rear seat of a vehicle parked in front of her house at 6787 Mangrum Circle, near Rainbow Boulevard and Spring Valley Parkway.

Police said the woman's head had been beaten, possibly with a rock. Witnesses said they heard screams during the attack.

The victim's name was not released, but police said Munguia was her boyfriend or ex-boyfriend.

Police found Munguia's car, a white Honda Civic, about 1 a.m. Thursday in North Las Vegas, in the area of Stocker and Tonopah avenues.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
