Judge delays Boggs trial

The trial of former Clark County Commissioner Lynette Boggs will be postponed until Jan. 26.

A District judge today granted her attorney's request for a delay. The trial had been scheduled for July 28.

Boggs' lawyer, Gabriel Grasso, sought a postponement because he must deal with several other trials over the next few months.

One of those cases involves robbery charges against O.J. Simpson, who is scheduled to go to trial in September.

Boggs is accused of perjuring herself when she signed candidacy papers in 2006. Prosecutors say the forms clearly state candidates risk perjury charges if they willfully give false information.
