Race 1 - 6 furlongs, Purse $29,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds and up

Winning Yield - Been away 3-month, every horse in the field is dropping in class; like the turn back in distance too.

Kaffeinator - Tepid chalk in a real dart throw race; showed tactical speed so Bejarano can place him where he wants.

Long Shot - Whistle Stop

Race 2 - 1 mile (turf), Purse $58,000, Claiming $62,500, Fillies, 3-year-olds

Great Grace - Garrett Gomez is not known as a speed rider, but he has lone speed in here; she'll boss them early on.

Harmony Creator - Another weak favorite in an open race; was flattered in last by Ginger Pop, been freshened 2-months.

Long Shot - Four Paws

Race 3 - 6 furlongs, Purse $17,000, Claiming $10,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up

Steppin Out Rose - Claimed by Bob Hess and spotted smartly to win right away; saves all the ground and grinds it out late.

Twix - Sliding down the claiming ladder for A.C. Avila; he adds blinkers on and Isais up, where the heck did Omar Berrio go.

Long Shot - Spy Aly

Race 4 - 6 furlongs, Purse $29,000, Claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up

Big Red Tate - Claimed by Rafael Becerra and spotted right back to win; was flattered when Foul Play won right back.

Syndicator - Didn't run a step in last while facing much tougher; Garrett Gomez takes over for John Sadler, live connections.

Long Shot - Headed for Home

Race 5 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $25,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds

Trash Master - Ran evenly in debut in what could be described as a test drive; key for me is Rafael Bejarano remains loyal.

Spanish Ice - Logical chalk showed speed and was game inside the final furlong; she will be the one to catch today.

Long Shot - Deb's Mojo

Race 6 - 1 mile (turf), Purse $63,000, Allowance, 3-year-olds and up

Mr. Chairman - Has been a model of consistency since returned off a 19-month hiatus; saves all the ground and rallies late.

Swift Winds - First starter for Victor Garcia since his dad Juan retired; expect to show the barn's best foot forward.

Long Shot - Lockford

Race 7 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $72,000, Optional claiming $100,000, 3-year-olds and up

El Manuel - The key question is whether part owner Jim Rome can make it to Del mar; good spot for a confidence builder.

Barber - Rail skimming ride for the suddenly rejuvenated Alex Solis; have to discover where he found the fountain of youth.

Long Shot - Peace Chant

Race 8 - 1 mile, Purse $56,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Gloria Goodbody - Did not run badly in last in a disguised effort; stretches back out which will be more to her comfort level.

Cherryblossommiss - Garrett Gomez is getting first call for John Sadler, so the stock must be respect; adds blinkers on here.

Long Shot - Holladay Dixie

Best Bet - Big Red Tate (race 4)
