World Series of Poker down to fourteen
Fourteen players remained in contention Monday at 7 p.m. at the World Series of Poker’s main event, the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold’em World championship at the Rio. Players are on a 90-minute dinner break.
Peter Eastgate of Denmark is leading with $18.6 million in tournament chips. Darus Suharto of Toronto is in second place with $14.8 million in chips. Dean Hamrick of East Lansing, Mich., is in third with $12 million in chips.
Players still alive in the tournament are guaranteed a minimum payout of $463,201.
Monday’s play began with 27 players. Contenders were vying for one of nine seats at the main event’s final table, which will be played in November at the Rio. The winner will take home $9.12 million.
