Man arrested in fatal stabbing incident

A man was arrested in connection with a stabbing that killed one person and injured another near downtown early Saturday morning.

Las Vegas police received several calls about 1:30 a.m. of a woman stabbed at F Street and Washington Avenue and a man down in the street at D Street and Washington.

Officers arrived to find a 30-year-old woman stabbed in the leg and a man about 35 years old dead from a stab wound to the chest.

The woman was taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and later released.

Police didn't release the names of either victim.

Detectives determined both people had been stabbed by the woman's ex-boyfriend, 47-year-old Ignacio "Ceasar" Miranda, police said.

He was found at the 1100 block of Vernon Avenue, near Rancho Drive and Washington and was booked on one count of murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon, police said.

Man on three-wheeled motorcycle hit, killed

A 60-year-old man riding a three-wheeled motorcycle was struck by a drunken driver and killed late Friday night, police said.

The man was in the right lane of southbound Maryland Parkway at Twain Avenue driving a 2008 Thoroughbred Trike when he was struck from behind by a 1998 Nissan Maxima about 11:55 p.m.

The impact threw the driver off the cycle. He then was run over by the Nissan before the car struck a light pole, Las Vegas police said.

The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he died. His name was not released.

The driver of the Nissan, 33-year-old Modesto Lopez-Hernandez, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence resulting in death, and driving without a valid license, police said.

Teenage pedestrian dies when hit by SUV

A 19-year-old pedestrian was struck by a sport utility vehicle and killed Friday night.

The woman was crossing Las Vegas Boulevard at Wigwam Avenue in the crosswalk when she was hit by a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling south about 9 p.m.

The woman, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene, Las Vegas police said.

The driver of the Tahoe, 38-year-old Detroit resident Angelo Hurst, was charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, police said.
