Lions stay perfect in Southwest play
Holly O'Hara broke open a scoreless game with an RBI double in the fourth inning, and Ashley Krumme put the game out of reach with a bases-loaded triple two innings later as Sierra Vista's softball team beat visiting Bishop Gorman 7-0 Friday.
Krumme finished 2-for-5 for the Lions, who improved to 4-0 in the Southwest Division. Gorman fell to 2-1 in division play.
Desiree Laswell got the win, allowing one hit and striking out six in five innings.
• Durango 6, Spring Valley 2 -- At Spring Valley, D.J. Richardson went 4-for-4 with a home run, three triples, three runs and an RBI as the Trailblazers topped the Grizzlies.
Jaexie Balilea was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI for the Trailblazers.
Jasmine Wilson was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Spring Valley. Lauren Maloney added a solo home run for the Grizzlies.
• Clark 21, Western 0 -- At Clark, Elisa Dawson pitched a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts as the Chargers pounded the Warriors in five innings.
Clark's Alicia Valdovinos was 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs, and Mandi Waiters added a triple and two RBIs.
• Eldorado 18, Chaparral 0 -- At Chaparral, Brittany Young tossed a five-inning two-hitter and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three runs as the Sundevils routed the Cowboys.
• Rancho 10, Desert Pines 2 -- At Desert Pines, Katelyn Bley doubled twice and Amerissa Villamar allowed just two runs on five hits to lead the Rams over the Jaguars.
• Las Vegas 17, Canyon Springs 1 -- At Canyon Springs, Monique Hernandez allowed two hits and struck out eight in a complete-game victory for the Wildcats.
Las Vegas' Brianna Guzman was 3-for-4 with a home run and a double.
• Valley 10, Foothill 1 -- At Foothill, winning pitcher Mickayla Romero went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Vikings past the Falcons.
Foothill's Brandy Yamka was 2-for-2 with a triple.
• Legacy 19, Del Sol 7 -- At Del Sol, Legacy collected 21 hits in a victory over the Dragons.
Hannah Weld and Darcey Cochran each had three hits for Legacy, which took advantage of 20 Del Sol errors.
Heather Romero went 3-for-4 with a double to lead the Dragons.
• Bonanza 6, Canyon View (Utah) 4 -- At Bonanza, Aimee Doyle hit a three-run, walk-off homer with one out in the seventh inning to lift the Bengals over the Pioneers.
Canyon View had hit two home runs in the game and carried a 4-3 lead into the final inning.
• Palo Verde 15, Coronado 9 -- At Palo Verde, Lauryn Stover had two doubles, and the Panthers scored five runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to put away the Cougars.
• Faith Lutheran 3-11, Moapa Valley 2-5 -- At Overton, Jessie Tracy tossed a five-hitter in the opener and went 4-for-5 with a home run and a double in the second game as the Crusaders swept the Pirates.
Michelle Beatty was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Faith Lutheran in the first game. Maya Barns went 5-for-5 for the Crusaders in the second game.
• Lake Mead 21, Laughlin 8 -- At Lake Mead, Jenna Willis went 3-for-4 with a double, and Lake Mead scored 11 first-inning runs in a rout of the Cougars.
• Mountain View 8-13, Calvary Chapel 6-6 -- At Mountain View, Randall Van Kempen went 5-for-9 with a double and five RBIs to lead the Saints to the sweep.
Ellie Markwardt was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs for Mountain View in the first game. Lexie Alley went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs for the Saints in the second game.
• Boulder City 10-2, Virgin Valley 6-5 -- At Boulder City, the Eagles and the Bulldogs split a doubleheader.
