State Route 160 crash kills man, injures another

A man was killed and another injured when the convertible they were traveling in flipped and was hit by another vehicle Wednesday on state Route 160, trooper Kevin Honea of the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

Honea said the accident occurred about 5 p.m. on state Route 160 near Lovell Canyon Road.

Honea said two men were traveling northbound on Route 160 in a Ford Mustang when the driver lost control and veered off the right side of the road.

The driver overcorrected, crossed the northbound lanes and the car flipped onto a southbound lane, where it was struck by a sedan, Honea said.

Neither man in the Mustang was wearing a seat belt and the top was down on the convertible, he said.
