Pinango leads 51s past Rainiers
Miguel Pinango allowed two runs on four hits in seven innings Wednesday to lead the 51s to a 3-2 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers in a Pacific Coast League game in Tacoma, Wash.
Pinango (3-3) struck out four and didn't walk a batter.
John Lindsey hit a two-run homer with two out in the sixth for Las Vegas after Andy LaRoche reached on a fielding error by Tacoma third baseman Yung Chi Chen.
The 51s scored their first run in the fifth on an RBI single by Rex Rundgren.
The Rainiers scored their runs on solo homers by Rob Johnson in the fourth and Jeff Clement in the seventh.
Matt Riley pitched a perfect eighth inning for Las Vegas, striking out two. Brian Falkenborg allowed two hits and a walk in the ninth, but he struck out Bryan LaHair with two runners on to end the game and get his sixth save.
Tacoma starter Chris Jakubauskas (2-1) took the loss, allowing three runs -- one earned -- on seven hits in 7 1/3 innings. He struck out five and walked one.
