HORSE RACING

TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

By Richard Eng

Post Time 1:20 p.m.

Race 1 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $33,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds

Hottodi - Was overmatched in the Melair a week ago; she runs for a claiming price and holds a major class edge.

Queen Holly - Dead late closer got up in the final stride last time; suspect will sit in arrears and make one run.

Long Shot - Starstruck Kristen

Race 2 - 7 furlongs, Purse $48,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Surprises Welcomed - FTS from trainer Eric Guillot who has done well winning off the bench; this filly cost $3-million.

Quick Commander - Nice career debut for Doug O'Neill; he takes the blinkers off to try and make her relax.

Long Shot - Indy Blaze

Race 3 - 4 1/2 furlongs, Purse $48,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds

Deb's Mojo - She actually looks like a filly who wants to go farther; Wesley Ward adds blinkers on for a bit more speed.

Molly McFast - FTS is part of an uncoupled entry from trainer Mike Harrington; the longer priced horse is Octoberfest.

Long Shot - Seattle Sweetie

Race 4 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $13,000, Claiming $8,000, 4-year-olds and up

Spriggzee - Jeff Mullins claimer is awful tough to handle at this bottom class level; bugboy Arambula gets a big shot.

Tolnai - He figures to be the speed of the speed today; not the bravest of sorts, the question comes in the final furlong.

Long Shot - Dixie Music Roll

Race 5 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 10 feet), Purse $61,000, Optional claiming $100,000, 4-year-olds and up

Charmo - Even run last time in return off a 10-month sabbatical; don't think this 7-YO is through yet, confidence builder.

Dilemma - That was a fine turf debut last time and now he draws the rail to save all the ground; Solis hates being inside.

Long Shot - Worchester

Race 6 - 6 furlongs, Purse $25,000, Starter allowance $40,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds up

Inspiration Within - Speedy sort finds a weak field to try and break through; like the subtle turn back in distance.

Quickly Gone - Carla Gaines barn is so hot, you have to respect any horse she starts; she may have needed her last start.

Long Shot - Malabar Star

Race 7 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 10 feet), Purse $53,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up

Lemon Chiffon - Like the inside draw going a mile; was closing fast last time in first race back off a 15-month hiatus.

Ransom Captive - Makes her first U.S. start around 2-turns; has sprinted twice, but all her best Euro races are going long.

Long Shot - Bien Dulce

Race 8 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Maiden claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds and up

Orientation Hall - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; tactical speed to sit close up.

Whatwillbewillbe - Good debut, now Don Warren adds blinkers on for more focus; we'll see if progresses or regresses.

Long Shot - Osceola Prince

Best Bet - Orientation Hall (race 8)

Hollywood Thursday- Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 15/4/$26.40; Long Shots, 6/0/$0; Best Bet, 1/0/$0

Hollywood Totals - 115/36/$256.00; Long Shots, 57/3/$32.20; Best Bets, 7/3/$13.00
