Skier killed at Tahoe resort ID’d

RENO -- A skier who died in an accident at a Lake Tahoe resort last week has been identified as a retired 65-year-old Reno attorney.

Douglas Fletcher was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident Friday at the Mount Rose resort above Reno, said Rudy Bein, spokesman for the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office.

The cause of death was pending, Bein said.

Witnesses told Washoe County sheriff's deputies that the skier lost control on a run and struck a tree.
