LV man dies after his ATV overturns

A 21-year-old Las Vegas man died early Saturday morning after the all-terrain vehicle he was driving overturned.

David Lee Morgan was driving a 2006 Yamaha Rhino ATV at a high rate of speed in a desert area east of Decatur Boulevard, and south of Interstate 215, about 12:30 a.m., according Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Kevin Honea.

As the ATV approached Decatur, Morgan steered to the right, causing the ATV to rotate and overturn. Morgan was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle, according to Honea.

He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died. A passenger in the ATV was also not wearing a seat belt, and was taken to UMC with non-life threatening injuries.
