Man killed in I-15 crash identified

A male passenger killed in a vehicle that crashed last week on Interstate 15 north of Las Vegas Motor Speedway was identified Monday by the Clark County coroner's office as Aaron Guiza-Esquivel of Las Vegas.

Guiza-Esquivel, 33, was the front-seat passenger in a 1987 Nissan Pathfinder that was traveling north in the left lane early Friday morning.

The tread on the right tire separated, causing the car to drift across the paved inside shoulder and enter the center dirt median at 5:53 a.m., the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The driver steered the vehicle to the right, causing it to rotate and overturn.
