Boulder City home damaged by fire

A fire tore through a Boulder City home early Wednesday morning causing heavy fire damage, authorities said.

Firefighters were called about 7:45 a.m. to 219 Granite Court, near Highway 93 and Nevada Way, Boulder City officials said. Firefighters battled the blaze that appeared to have started in the garage but spread to the home.

The fire was under control in about 15 minutes.

The fire was believed to have been started when a spark from a vehicle ignited gasoline vapors, officials said.

Two people home at the time escaped without injury.

The home was worth $1.8 million according to the Clark County assessor's office. An estimate on the damage caused by the fire was not available Wednesday.
