LOCAL MARATHON SLATED FOR TODAY

The Las Vegas Marathon takes place today, starting and finishing at Mandalay Bay, in front of the South Convention Center.

The marathon and half-marathon will begin at 6 a.m., and several roads will be partially or completely closed throughout the morning.

Both races head north in the southbound lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard before winding through downtown. The marathon proceeds west on Bonanza Avenue, north on Martin Luther King Boulevard, west on Carey/Smoke Ranch, south on Torrey Pines Boulevard, east on Twain Avenue and south on Frank Sinatra Drive before finishing at Mandalay Bay.

The half-marathon heads south from downtown, ultimately taking Industrial Avenue to Frank Sinatra and finishing at Mandalay Bay.
