Family seeks out Pardee’s Rockwood neighborhood for northern location

Architect Erik Chudy and his fiancé Lani Bersamin and their son chose a new home at Pardee's Rockwood neighborhood for its location.

"We lived in North Las Vegas and enjoyed touring model homes on weekends," Chudy said. "We really liked the Centennial area and Aliante and went online to do more research and discovered Pardee Homes' Rockwood, located north of Aliante and east of the Centennial area."

The couple selected the Plan Four C at Rockwood, which measures 2,485 square feet with a two-car expanded garage, four bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and a loft. Additional features include a bedroom four in lieu of the loft, optional fifth bedroom or optional studio.

"We like the layout of the kitchen, which shares a large open space with the great room and we're converting the adjoining dining room to a den/sitting area," Bersamin said.

Rockwood is located at the northwest corner of Grand Teton Drive and Aviary Way, north of the builder's Prescott Park planned community centered around a 4 1/2-acre community park, which features a play area, climbing wall, game tables, basketball half-court, open field, amphitheater, picnic benches, barbecue grill and shade structure. It is available exclusively to residents of Pardee's Rockwood and neighboring Reston and their guests.

Rockwood's one- and two-story floor plans offer three to five bedrooms, up to 3 1/2 baths and two- or three-car garages in 1,596 to 2,917 square feet. Lot sizes average 4,500 square feet and prices range from $252,950 to $369,990.

Plan One measures 1,596 square feet in a single-story design with three bedrooms, a den or optional fourth bedroom, two baths and two-car garage. The home has an alternative kitchen option that expands it and creates a smaller formal living room space.

Plan Two measures 1,688 square feet with three bedrooms, den, two baths and two-car garage in a single-story design. The home can be built with a fourth bedroom in lieu of the den and a retreat off the master bedroom in lieu of a secondary bedroom.

Plan Five is a two-story plan that measures 2,764 square feet with four bedrooms. An optional bonus room could be turned into a fifth bedroom. A loft and a suite can be selected instead of a fourth bedroom. The home has a two-car expanded garage and upstairs laundry room.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95, and exit east on Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway; or from Interstate 15, exit west on the Beltway. Follow the Beltway to Decatur Boulevard and turn north. Turn right on Grand Teton Drive, then left on Aviary Way. Turn left on Mesa Gate, proceed through the gated entrance, and follow the road around the park to the Rockwood models.

The sales office is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Monday when it opens at 11 a.m.
