Richardson to visit Nevada on Saturday

Democratic presidential candidate Bill Richardson will campaign in Nevada on Saturday, according to his campaign, making numerous stops in both Southern and Northern Nevada.

The New Mexico governor first will appear in Las Vegas at the 9 a.m. kickoff of a joint canvassing effort by his campaign and the Red Rock Democratic Club. He then will rally supporters at Fourth Street and Gass Avenue downtown before participating in the Hispanic Day Parade.

At noon, he is scheduled to picnic with members of the Plasterers and Cement Masons Local 797 in Paradise Park. He'll then drop by the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, which will be having a mock caucus and issue forum, at 2:30.

By 5:30 p.m., Richardson will be in Reno, where he'll meet with Culinary union members and proceed to a house party hosted by supporters in Sparks.

It will be the 17th day he has spent in Nevada, more than any other candidate for president. He last visited the state Oct. 2, appearing in Boulder City.
