Managers of Alzheimer’s facilities arrested

A husband and wife management team for two Tender Loving Care Alzheimer's facilities in Henderson were arrested Friday on charges of exploiting a 79-year-old woman.

Cynthia Santamaria Ramos and Alberto Ramos were arrested after the woman's daughter called Henderson police from Kentucky to notify them of fraudulent purchases listed on her mother's financial records, said Todd Rasmussen, spokesman for Henderson police.

The managers are accused of using the patient's personal Visa card, taking $2,500 from her checking account and stealing her emerald diamond ring, Rasmussen said. She was under their care from June 8 to June 14.

The operation currently oversees six patients, a representative from the company said Monday.

The Ramoses manage two homes, at 155 Emden Drive and 723 Skipjack Drive.

Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone who has had a family member stay at the facility in the last two years to call detectives at 267-4750.
