Man arrested in Laughlin crimes

Fredrick Pierren was arrested Friday in connection with a string of robberies in Laughlin's casino district.

The Metropolitan Police Department continued the search for another suspect.

Pierren, 40, whose hometown wasn't immediately available, was arrested on charges of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and battery of a victim over 65, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. His bail was set at $59,000.

Three robberies occurred in the late evening and early morning hours of Oct. 9 and 10 in the parking areas of several Laughlin hotels. One victim, a 75-year-old, was pistol-whipped.

Pierren was being held in the Clark County Detention Center on Saturday afternoon.
