Italian restaurant destroyed by fire

A two-alarm fire destroyed Capozzoli's Italian restaurant on Maryland Parkway near Desert Inn Road early Wednesday.

The building, at 3333 Maryland Parkway near the Boulevard Mall, caught fire about 1 a.m., about 10 minutes after employees closed up the place, officials said. Two other buildings in the same strip mall were also damaged, said Clark County Fire Department spokesman Scott Allison.

A dollar estimate of the damage was not released Thursday; the cause of the fire was still under investigation.

Last September there was a fire in the same strip mall.
