Couple buys at Lennar for first-time residence

First-time home buyers Ana and Michael Imperial have a baby on the way, and to accommodate their growing family, they chose a four-bedroom home at Lennar's Diamond Creek neighborhood, located at Mountain's Edge, a master-planned community in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley.

The couple chose the two-story Marquise plan, which measures 1,872 and contains four bedrooms, 21/2 baths and a two-car garage. The entry opens into a flexible living space, and an open archway and cutout wall separates the open area from the home's family room, informal dining room and kitchen. The island kitchen anchors the main floor and features a built-in desk.

"The Marquise that we selected actually already had wood floors in the kitchen so we even got an extra bonus which we love," Michael Imperial said. "Plus, all of the other included appliances and upgrades."

The home's standard amenities included the refrigerator, window coverings and a washer and dryer. The Imperials relocated to Las Vegas from New Jersey four years ago.

"We love the weather here," Ana Imperial said. "And at Diamond Creek we now have a wonderful gated community, and the park with a children's playground. It's a great place for a family."

Four floor plans are available at the neighborhood.

"We are so pleased with these floor plans," said Vicki Zoot, director of marketing. "They present a lot of flexibility with appeal for a broad range of home buyers. These are great starter homes for younger families and first-time home buyers, and we even have quite a few out-of-state buyers who are purchasing a second home at Diamond Creek. It's an all-together beautiful location, and the Mountain's Edge master plan amenities are a big, big plus."

The Baguette measures 1,384 square feet and contains three bedrooms and three baths. The first floor includes a full bedroom and bath, an open great room main living area, a U-shaped kitchen with a pantry and a laundry room.

The second story includes the master bedroom and bath, and another bedroom featuring a walk-in closet and an interior private bath.

The Emerald measures 1,627 square feet, and is a split-level floor plan containing three bedrooms and 21/2 baths. The main floor has a tech area or computer center with a built-in desk opening out to a covered patio. Bedrooms two and three, a full bath, and a laundry are also on the first floor.

The second floor features a great room highlighted by abundant glass and an island kitchen with a walk-in pantry. The master bedroom and master bath are also on this level. A guest powder room also is on the floor.

The Princess design measures 1,709 square feet with three bedrooms and 21/2 baths. The main floor contains a formal entry, great room, dining area and open kitchen. The second floor is highlighted by an open walkway overlooking the main floor, and features the bedrooms and the laundry room.

The homes include two-car garages, ceramic-tile entries, volume 10- to 12-foot ceilings and prewiring for cable television.

Prices start in the $300,000s.

Exterior detailing highlights include two-tone paint, covered entry porches, covered rear patios per plan, and homes offer a variety of stone trims per elevation. The community is Energy Star-certified.

To visit Diamond Creek, take Interstate 15 to Blue Diamond Road heading south to Buffalo Drive, south on Buffalo to Richmar Avenue, then west on Richmar to the community.

The Welcome Home Center hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For Diamond Creek information call 260-4091.
