‘Nick Live!’ show comes to Aliante

Aliante and Nickelodeon - the No. 1 network for kids - will bring "Nick Live!," an interactive stage show, to the community's 20-acre Nature Discovery Park Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event, called Day of Discovery, will be free and open to the public.

Featuring a variety of high-energy games and physical challenges, "Nick Live!" gives kids and adults a chance to get on stage and get into the action. The two hosts of the show will select participants from the audience to compete in a series of wacky games and cool challenges based on Nickelodeon's most popular creations, including Dora the Explorer and The Fairly Odd Parents.

Audience members will be divided into teams and cheer on their teammates who have been selected to go on stage. The captain of the winning team will receive Nickelodeon's highest honor - getting doused with a bucket of the famous green Nickelodeon "slime."

Two 45-minute "Nick Live!" shows will take place at about 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., a variety of other Day of Discovery activities will also take place at the park. They include live entertainment by D.J. Tony, mad science demonstrations, arts and crafts, games and dinosaur digs. Food and refreshments will be available for sale and there will be several booths representing community-based businesses and organizations.

Nature Discovery Park is located at 2627 Nature Park Drive, near the southeast corner of Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, and Aliante Parkway. To reach the park, take U.S. Highway 95 to I-215 Exit East. Head east on I-215, exit at Aliante Parkway and proceed south.
