Former president to visit Las Vegas

Former President Bill Clinton will be in Las Vegas this weekend to campaign for his wife.

He is scheduled to host a rally at the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy for the presidential campaign of his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., on Sunday evening, according to the campaign.

Bill Clinton rallied campaign supporters in Reno in mid-August and was supposed to have traveled to Southern Nevada immediately after, but scheduling conflicts forced a postponement of the Las Vegas plans.

Sunday's rally is free and open to the public, but the campaign asks those who expect to attend to RSVP, either online at www.hillaryclinton.com/lasvegas or by calling the Nevada campaign headquarters at (702) 664-1040.

The school is at 1201 W. Lake Mead Blvd., near the intersection with Martin L. King Boulevard. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The former president's visit comes exactly two weeks after his wife last visited Las Vegas. On Oct. 21, Hillary Clinton campaigned at a community center and at the Springs Preserve.

A recent Review-Journal poll suggested that Bill Clinton is more popular in Nevada than his wife. Fifty-one percent of Nevada voters surveyed earlier this month viewed the former president favorably, compared to 38 percent who had a favorable view of Hillary Clinton.
