Las Vegas man, 44, killed in car crash

A Las Vegas man died Friday after he drove into a mailbox and wall in the 5300 block of South Topaz Street.

The victim was identified as Jimmy Jacobs, 44, of Las Vegas.

Police said Jacobs failed to keep his 2000 Honda in his lane going south on Topaz. At about 11:45 a.m., the car drifted across the northbound lane onto the shoulder and crashed.

Jacobs, who had a heart condition, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation.
