Man shot to death identified; gunmen sought

A 39-year-old man shot to death Saturday near Nellis Air Force Base was identified as Ambrocio Martinez of Las Vegas.

He died at University Medical Center from a gunshot wound to the torso, the Clark County coroner's office said.

Las Vegas police found Martinez after a report of gunshots in the 6000 block of Castlemont Avenue, near Lake Mead and Nellis boulevards.

Witnesses told investigators the gunmen escaped in a compact or mid-size truck with a hard bed cover. The truck might be red with designs on the doors and "Sinaloa" written on the rear window, police said.

The two gunmen were described as Hispanics in their mid-20s with dark hair. One of them was described as being about 5 feet 5 inches tall and between 170 and 190 pounds. The other was about 5 feet 7 inches tall and between 160 and 180 pounds.
